The Paradox of Our Age

Several years ago I took an active interest in Buddhism and like most things along life's pathway I 'borrowed' certain aspects and added them to my 'survival' toolkit.

Like handbags, toolkits need emptying every now and again and sorting out - what fun! It's like Pandora's box - I'm never quite sure what I'm going to find but it's always fun re-discovering long lost items and reconnecting with them. Remembering where they were bought or acquired, who gave them to me and why were they kept.

By doing this I am able to remind myself of some of the more important things in life - usually the small and seemingly insignificant but always truthful! One such reminder happened along quite recently at a very apt time and every time I read it I think to myself 'Oh how true is that?'

I have included the words (in a photograph) of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama - 'The Paradox of Our Age'. His wisdom is written on a parchment scroll and is displayed on my office door...................this way I intend to keep it in my life and not just in the 'survival' toolkit to tip out and turn to only in times of crisis and need.

Does anyone else share the same sentiments?
