What is it about books?
I just love and adore them; I am passionate about books - I can't walk past a bookshop without diving in and having a good old rummage and browse amongst the shelves - up high or down low; and I can never leave a bookshop without making at least one, if not two purchases, or is it three or four......... ?
Is it the size and shape? (does size really matter after all!), is it the colour of the dust jacket? the design on the front? the title of the book itself? Whatever it is, there is something about a book that is so very inviting! How can an inanimate object seem to have a life and a will all of its own? Why do they speak to me, woo and seduce me?
I read several books simultaneously - they are stacked on the floor in no particular order by the bed and I dip in and out of them until they have all been read and completely absorbed. For me books are like a box of chocolates - different flavours and centres for every conceivable mood for every day of the year..............whatever the season, whatever the weather or the time of day.
I am a slave to this secret love affair (although not quite so secret now).
Does anyone else feel like this about books or is it just me?
